Because I Love You

Because I love you, this is about to be the most difficult poem

I’ve ever had to write

Finding the right words to express our relationship

Pick the right songs to explain this modern day situationship

Because I love you, I learned how to balance dark and light.

Your quiet and my loud

Your sunshine to my cloud

Because I love you, I saw the good in you

I prayed that one you’d see it to

Because I love you, you saw the good in me

Even when I thought that couldn’t be

I didn’t think I was ever going to love again

I saw no good in these dirty men

But I loved you

I loved you like you were oxygen

Like I would die without you

And because I LOVED you, I thought this was okay

Putting everything I had into a throw away

I knew one day love would kill me

But because I loved you, I stayed
