Because I Love You

Glass still remains on the floor

From the fight from last night.

Remains of how things used to be are smashed,

Just like those great memories we once shared.

I never would have imagined that I could be this person,

Who is so weak and lost within the depths of someone else.

Who am I supposed to be? Where am I supposed to go?

I sweep up the memories of yesterday, surrounding myself in who I once was.

I look and see white roses, a sure sign of forgiveness and purity.

What is written on the card is the epicenter of everything that I am with him,

“Because I love you.”

And because I love myself, I will walk away.
