Because I Love You

“Because I love you,” you expect me to fall on hands and knees like I am your subject, not your partner.

Grovelling at your feet, or swooning at the mention of your name.

My hands shake with the jitters like I am sick...or sickly in love with you.

Your definition of love and my definition, are like yin and yang, two complete opposites, but, yet we co-exist.

We are like a hurricane and a tornado, uncontrollable, unpredictable, but natural.

“Because I love you,” I will be there for you when you need it most

I will tell you when you’re wrong,  I will praise you when you’re right.

You’re the very blood in my veins, that rushes and pulses every time I breathe or speak.

The wind, that whispers its dreams in my ear, is an extension of your mind, your wants, and needs, all at my fingertips.

And when I curl up next to you in the dead of night, with our fears squeezing the very essence of life out of us,

I will hold on, and I will face our fears together, not to make me strong, but for you to know we are stronger together than we are apart

because I love you…
