Beauty In All
Location
When I was still young I would see beauty in all
I would never judge, nor curse and had only cried when I’d fall,
But one day my parents told me something not so great
They said that God would not love me if I were not straight.
This was the first time I truly realized who I was
I scattered my brain wondering the cause
Why would God do this to me, I wondered?
Why am I here? But there was no one to help me so I lived in fear.
Years had gone by and I constantly denied it
Who was I, what I am, and why I lived throughout it.
And one day when all hope was almost gone
A friend, that I had not known very long, had helped me move on.
She was the first I told and helped me through it
Told me my parents were wrong and I did not choose it
God had chosen me for who I am but I did not believe it.
A few more months had gone by and I began to accept it
I couldn't believe it, had I finally achieved it?
To be able to love myself regardless of what I've been taught
After everything that’s gone on after all that I've fought?
It was finally here the day I realized that through Gods eyes I was a prize
Still his son no matter whom or what denied it
I will never again be blinded by it,
The thought that I was never accepted had gone
And I sit here writing this poem that whoever you may be
You are loved and you will be accepted throughout all eternity.
