BARREN CAPITAL

POEM BY: Alick Mushekwa
*BARREN CAPITAL*

Barren capital; the money which can never grow

Is as bad as a poison killing slow,

Having resources which can't give poverty a deadly blow,

Is as good as having nothing to sow.

You reap what you sow

A bird at hand is more than two in the bush

Thinking without giving birth to your ideas

Is the same as burying yourself in fear

Having resources is not a sign of fertility

Having money is not a sign of prosperity

Running up and and down is not a sign of productivity

Eating too much does not invite obesity

Dreaming all day is not an omen of success in reality

The impact of having an accidental leadership is measured in its fatality

But the future of a country is predicated in its vision feasibility

The lame is not lame unless with a disability

Having resources that does not produce is same as having a "barren capital"

Human capital is fundamental

It deals with the capabilities in the mental faculties

Failure to use your brain results into grave casualties

It requires no patience to heal a patient of a mental illness

Because too much patience killed a patient.

The disability of a mind to give birth to an idea

Makes man and his coming posterity to wallow in deep fear

Motivational speeches are useless to a deaf ear

And ridiculous to human carcass, as they can't hear

Having people without a vision in power is not having leadership in place

It is as same as having animals occupying the leadership space
Laziness is a serious threat to business

Money without value is useless in the world of economics

Medicine which can't cure a patient is useless in a world hit by a pandemic

Let me tell you, I mean you;

Working smart is a sign of a perfect start,

Having hope accompanied by productive actions

Gives the world the best results it has ever expected

Being hit by a terrible situation in times like these sounds unprecedented

Real leaders are ever willing to sacrifice the little they have

They are adamant to overcome challenges, however tough

Responding to a mosquito bit is a sign of being rough

However, a leader who understands is better than a reader who fail to interpret,

A mind full of ideas it can't remember is as the same as being a puppet;

Barren capital; the money which can never grow

Is as bad as a poison killing slow,

Having resources which can't give poverty a deadly blow,

Is as good as having nothing to sow.

You reap what you sow
