Barely Hanging

What I don’t seem to understand is what you have against me

I’ve done all I can, and this is how you treat me—

I wish that sometimes you would look deeper – deeper inside

And try to feel the pain I always feel from your pride.

Because I’m barely hanging on, on the edge of this world

Because I’m barely hanging, to what it used to be—

And sometimes I would wish that you’d come to your senses

And understand... that you’re not on your own.

But while I fiercely fighting, I’m secretly crying

Crying so that I may understand—

Why’d you have to go, and ruin what had been made

Is it that important, that you must cast it away?

Because I’m barely hanging on, to what’s left here

Because I’m barely hanging on, to what I hold dear—

And if you can’t seem to find what you really need

Then I’ll... do what must be done.

Everyday it’s the same, in and out, up and down

But why can’t you see that I, understand you—

I understand what you need, and protect you

But you have little faith and push me away.

And I’m barely hanging on, trying to find

What you were talking about—

And I’m barely hanging on, to memories of you and me

Wondering what’s left for both of us now.

But what’s happened can’t be changed

And what’s done can only move forward—

But here I still am, wondering about you

And if my love even entered you.
