Avoidance

Silence can be powerful

A wall rising between

And you feel contained

In a place most unwelcome

Your frantic mind

You yearn to speak

The words that are trapped in a cell

With bars too confined

But if dirty looks could kill

You’d be lifeless

And the glares would make you blind

Instead of breaking down the barrier

Brick by brick

The barrier

You feel inclined

To avoid it altogether

So you walk away

I have so many thoughts that jumble around in my head about different scenarios and feelings.  Sometimes I realize that vocalizing everything you think may not have great outcomes, so I write poetry as a way of releasing what I feel without affecting others negatively.
