Autumn Breeze

Oxidizing like an autumn leaf,

Pale and yet red.

Shivering in the cool breeze

Clinging to that branch.

How long has it been?

A day?

A month?

I miss the warmth oh so…

Hanging there

Lifeless and dead

Yet it’s such a pretty sight.

I’m colored red

And brown

And yellow

From my long stained Livor Mortis.

Am I pretty now?

There I hang

From the branch like an autumn leaf…

Swaying in the wind…

Threatening to fall to the ground…

And crunch under your boots.

To be an autumn leaf…

Oxidized and dead.
