Audentes Fortuna Iuvat
I yearn to frolic within the garden's charm,
And dream of a butterfly on my arm,
To venture with me into the wild,
Its exquisite wings, a beauty so mild.
Free to flee, it can go as it please,
A mere glimpse of its beauty, a tease,
Although I wish for it to stay,
I understand if it flies away.
With such a gift, I cannot blame,
If it leaves me to chase its aim,
But in my heart, its beauty will stay,
And bring me joy, day by day.
The butterfly, so free and light,
Is like him, with his wisdom and insight,
Through life's experiences, books, and meeting new faces,
He still chose me, among all life's many places.
I admired him for the very thing,
That could allow him to fly away on a whim,
The butterfly has its wings to explore,
He has a world of knowledge, I cannot ignore.
His understanding of a life I have yet to live,
A world that I cannot fully give,
And yet, he chose to stay with me,
To share his wisdom, and help me see.
The butterfly and he, both free,
Yet, they chose to stay with me,
Their beauty and knowledge, a gift to hold,
Their freedom to leave, a choice, so bold.
