Astray on an Arc

Location

University of California, Irvine
United States

Outside the doors of the village,

Who will come to pass on the campus?

Guided by the legends forgotten,

Use one as your north star compass.

A design that conforms to a circle,

A disorienting labyrinth.

Expand the span of your attention,

The land is an open sanctuary.

Passing the tower in the east,

Return and turn your back on the south.

Cut through the gateway molded by and for engineers,

The other side will provoke the placement of your fears.

A turn toward the hills south of the park,

Head back in a northeastern arc;

To the east is where the battle lies,

A field full of armored women and guys.

Nearly last to waive away the hindrance,

Granted one of the last shields of comfort.

Sixty seconds of fury amongst four thousand, two hundred,

Records will reveal the result of the day.

In the finality following the minute,

It is time to head on home.

Always been in the southwest no matter where,

The return journey and trading of items.

All will look back and remember,

The final day of September,

When the heat was high and defenses were threatened,

And in the end we were unified.
