Anthony

Location

My father is a loving and caring man

As a young girl he always held my hand

One day everything changed for the worse

Though he wasn’t taken away in a herse

He was taken from me drastically

Handcuffed and thrown in cell block C

Given a number and becoming a statistic in society

Not being able to be the father he planned to be

Now I’m left a fatherless girl

In this crazy, lonely and cold world

Talking to him on the phone or through glass

Wishing he could witness my growth as the time pass

Many years of taking long drives

After visits leaving with tears in my eyes

Not knowing when our next visit would be

Left to reminisce of our memories

Now the only things we have are photos and visits

I’m about to graduate, sure hate he has to miss it
