And Then It Was Me
Not long ago,
I realized I was alone.
For the first time in twenty-two years,
I was making ALL the decisions, shifting the gears.
Moved out and financially stable,
I had been putting food on the table.
But I'd always had community,
A companion, you see.
Now it was only me, in an eternity, a sinking sea
Until I let acceptance well in my heart,
I focused my path like the head of a dart,
No one else was holding the keys,
It was me.
