Feeling Alone

Singing the same old sad song

I do not want pity

I just want this feeling of alone to be gone

I try to get your attention

You give me what you think I want

It is not enough

I just crave love

Love that is never returned

I turn to poetry

Poetry gives a love others can't 

Poetry is you loving yourself 

Poetry is the audience loving you loving yourself

 I wrote poems about my thoughts and emotions

One poem was about suicide

I had never imagined committing suicide

But the idea of putting my anger and loneliness in words felt great

Being able to say this is how I feel through words

I felt a new high I had not felt before

The verbal communication of my feelings had always been a weakness

Everyone looked at me crazy when I presented my poem

They all thought I needed help

Don't they know I'm just a writer finding my way

I guess I got the attention I wanted

Just not how I wanted it

I stopped writing poetry because people didn't understand mine

Well I stopped until now that is
