I am here.

Engulfed by the masses, a sea of blissful ignorance.

Yet still,

It is so loud.

So very loud...

Almost too loud.

Too loud to comprehend,

Too loud to distinguish.

I scan the room and take in their faces.

Each so different, each so unique.

I smile to myself, wondering what they're all like.

Maybe they're like me.

Maybe they're lonely too.

I wonder if we all could ever become fr-

The bell.

It chimes and they stand.

The clamoring, jostling, and jingling of loose articles prevades the air.

Onward they press, going about their business.

And now, I am Alone once more.

But this time is different.

This time, there is Silence.
