The Allure of a Camera

Hair swept back, lighting just right, phone in hand,

Camera on, portrait mode enabled.

Click, click, click.

Walking in the street, waiting between commercials, standing in line.

Anywhere, anytime.

Click, click, click.

Trying every filter, each at a different angle,

Narcissus continues to reflect through the medium of his cellphone.

Click, click, click.

He is characterized by the noise that follows,

That of a camera shuttering,

That of his cell phone going

Click, click, click.

Each angle requires the three pictures characterized by the three clicks,

Each minute characterized by ten angles,

Each hour characterized by 1,800 pictures.

Click, click, click.
