All I Need
I sit on the curb late at night pondering all the wrong I have done.
Like the time I cheated on my chemistry quiz in the eleventh grade.
Or when I put my boyfriend before my life long friends.
When I lied to my best friend about the smallest things.
I procrastinate on most of my school papers.
I cram for tests the night before.
I stay out after curfew.
I am found drowning in my tears.
When you ask why I'm out in the cold.
I tell you,
"Mom, I sit here scared because I regret all of the bad I've done.
I ponder about life and my wrongdoings.
I only started to cry when I realized the worst thing I could do.
Mom, I'm aftraid I will lose you.
You never left when I sat awake at 3 am. studying
You stuck by me when I lost my best friend over a dumb boy.
You waited up until I got home only to give me a hug.
You always answered the phone when I needed rescuing.
I'm scared Mommy.
Because you are all I need.
