Adolescent Advice to Gun Laws
We’ve stated concerns about the fears of violence in our halls,
then waited silently as we burn.
For some reason dress codes are stricter than our gun laws,
lives blink out but to speak we raise our hands for a turn.
We are given compromises less than appeasements,
suggested transparent backpacks and bulletproof windows.
Though the real problem is in the everymen basements,
Where rifles and bullets could be stocked like legos.
You say you can fix this by healing “mental health issues”,
but words without action have a very little impact.
Especially when you ban research to accept lobby dues,
we all know why you keep the NRA intact.
We can’t vote doesn’t mean it doesn’t concern us,
because it seems we have the common sense adults lack.
We petition, walkout, and protest for our U.S.
with no trust that Congress will have our back.
