9:21

Staring at your phone it's 9:15 pm

Looking down at the messages

you begin to read because they're from him.

"Hey honey, how are you?"

Your face begins to gleam

is it from the happiness within you

or the car headed in your direction?

You place your phone down and grab the steering wheel for a second.

You've managed to be okay.

Your phone goes off again.

You take another look and it's 9:20

"I'll be home in 30 babe txt me."

You begin to place your fingers along your touch screen phone.

It's 9:21 now so you enter your passcode

You look up as you type "I love you"

You hear the blare of a horn

You scream out as if it will save you now.

You grab on the steering wheel tight

until you feel the blow

Air bags come in your direction

if only you had known.

What a traumatic way to end the life of a loving girl.

In a matter of minutes your life has gone by.

Due to a single message and your urge to reply.

So grab your seatbelt and hold on tight.

The roads will always lead to a bumpy ride.

There's no need for distractions

the text can wait

at such a young age there's no need for a death date.
