I walked along the shores of death

And I was very surprised in finding

A man all alone; his own business minding

He told me, “live alone till your last breath”

Still walking, I came across a steep cliff

I found an angry man with rather large fists

He had the word “if” on both of his wrists

And he whispered to me, “If only”

I continued on my journey farther

To find a man crying weeping softly with his dead father

I looked at him and he said to me,

“There is no such thing as emotional armor”

I left that place with many lessons learned-

For the lost we have all yearned
