It's 3 am in the morning and I've already forgotten what you look like
I remember how you smile, but can't imagine your lips
I don't know how your voice sounds
But your words stay etched into my ears like carvings on a tablet

I've only known you for six hours
and yet the way you've spoken,
like water slipping of rose petals in the morning
makes me wonder how you've gone through the world silently for 18 years
you must be wise.
to watch the universe without speaking
seeing your peers develop without knowing their names
I wonder if you realize your impact,
and if only for a second were you to capture this elation
like the breath between two stars that you cling to in the night sky
would you be able to understand the power that curses through your veins

I've only known you for six hours
and yet, the way you looked at me and said hello
with words dangerously smooth as silk
I knew that this was the end
The end of everything I held on so dearly to.
