It's 2am

and I think of you

My heart flutters

at the thought of your touch

Your fingers on my skin;

I the portrait and you the paint brush

I imagine your lips

soft like flower petals

I imagine your kiss

and my hands start to tremble

It's 2am and I recall

the first time you spoke to me

When I discovered what it's like

to forget how to breathe

It's 2am and your distance

grows lesser and lesser

As if you actually notice me

and I can have you forever

It's 2am and the world is my oyster

And you my dear are the pearl

It's 2am and everything is beautiful

because you are the world

It's 2am though not for much longer

and I know this all will pass

Until 2am tomorrow

when these thoughts come flooding back
