Ode to a time when our nation was
            in shambles
When war and politics left us
            shaken to our core
When terrorism frightened us,
When our economy was at its lowest,
When unemployment was critically high,
When all our hopes and American dreams were
            dwindling
When I walked around our favorite places and saw
When companies we had known
            for years, lost
When electronic devices dominated us,
When great movies and great actors were
            getting harder to find
When doubt was rampant,
When better times were seen in sleeping dreams
When will we have     better days?
