“Dear Mr. Vernon”,
Did you feel it in your knees?
I felt it everywhere; twist and shout.
The extreme always seems to make an impression-
stuck in a corner with swatch dogs and Diet Coke heads.
Sounds pretty heavy,
a brain,
an athlete,
a basket case,
a princess,
a criminal; but then again-
weight has nothing to do with it.
Something stinks in suburbia-
it needs something with a little more kick;
it’s a little childish and stupid, but then, so is high school.
May I admire you again today?
If not, I’m off like a dirty shirt.
I’m gonna do my dancing with a great partner-
and you’re beautiful.
The key to faking the out?
Complain that you want to be treated like a human being
because you probably already are.
You didn’t ruin it, you just changed it.
What’s your damage?
Washing hair or mowing lawns.
You can be my wingman anytime
because some shine and some don’t.
I am acting my age-
I’m in the prime of my youth
and I'll only be young once.
