For the mother who
Location
For the mother who never sees her daughter for who she is,
Blinded by a chemical not worth what she’s already lost.
To the sister who comes home mid-morning,
Forgetting where she was the whole night while the little one puts her to bed.
For the father,
Who refuses to believe he has a disease that claims the lives of too many.
The young, old, in-between,
It affects us all.
This sin in a bottle drowns the love we share for humanity,
Takes away any compassion to band together and take a stand against this evil.
Live like a child,
Be innocent for as long as possible.
We spend too much time on this Earth,
To carry the weight of “it” on our shoulders.
