Forsaken and Forgotten
Location
Forsaken, Forgotten
Crushed by the fall
Broken and wounded
Once again left all alone
Abandoned, famined,
Reprimanded, unexamined
Used, abused
Left a confused little girl,
Lost in this crazy world
Too many open doors
Too much pain she bore
When she was tied down to that floor
Made a sex slave, a hoe, a whore
Stripped her virginity
In such a quick glance
Stripped away her purity
No longer wearing white for that dance
It’s what she learned to live for
Affection from her dad
Starting with that gentle touch
Yet inside she felt so bad
So sad, so mad
But she didn’t use the voice she had
Even though it was a choice
She was just too scared and full of fear
With all the manipulation that just tore her to tears
But now that the time is near
She can overcome with a fear
Yes, there will be trials,
And she may shed a tear
but that doesn’t mean
Death should be her career
She has so much to live for
She’s a daughter of the King,
Loved with a love that is everlasting
Peace surpassing, mo more harassing,
No longer barely grasping,
Grasping for life, gasping for air
But instead, standing firm
In her confidence of being a co-heir.
Her past slate has been wiped clean,
he’s been freed and no longer needs to bleed
And keep memories that scars leave
Yet then pull down her sleeves
So that she can once again feel like she cannot achieve
The vicious cycle of destructive self-contempt
No longer controls
Instead she allows Him to take the lead role
And mold her into what He wants her to be
The beautiful princess
Who was given the key
The loveable child
Who has been set free
The noticed child
Whose every word is heard
This girl is me
And I love this identity.
I know the Father’s cleansed me,
And is more than willing to bless.
So I put my trust in him
And he gives me peaceful rest.
