I was a moral child,

raised in a moral world.

I was the line leader,

an example for the class.

I was the line leader,

who appeared to be on the right path.

I was the quiet kid

who saw the world as a sea of endless blue.

I was the quiet kid,

who never seemed to have a clue.

As I grew older,

life came into perspective.

As I grew older,

my words became more effective.

I was a young man

acquainted with many,

friends with a few.

They were my friends,

who promised to stay at my side.

And in the end,

they were my friends,

who allied with the hypocrisy of lies.

I was a young man

who knew wrong and right apart.

I was a young man,

who hid a troubled heart.

But unlike all,

I had a family with love.

And it was their loved that endured.

I had a family with love.

And it was their love that kept my heart pure.

I am a man

Who sees the world as a glimpse of light

I am a man

Who's friends gave up the fight

As a man I witness the ones I love

Binge away their sorrows.

And quietly I cry,

"I am a moral man,

In an immoral world."
