Why do I write poetry?

Because it gives me hope.

It serves as a flame to light my way.

Because in a world of problems,

Of lies and fear,

Of war and famine,

I can control fate.

I can give the story a happy ending.

Juliet can meet her Romeo and both live.

I can express my heart’s desires,

hopes and prayers.

I can heal.
