Broken Apart - Inspired by Poe's Annabel Lee

So many a year has passed,

In this kingdom by the sea.

From which the so-called angels

Tore my love, my life from me.

And here I lie, in my sepulchre

Without my heart to set me free.

The angels too envious

To let me rest in peace, to just let me be.

So they cursed me to walk the Earth,

Loveless, heartless and broken without he.

He was taken in his sleep with no choice

And left me to roam the cursed land.

Forever till Eternity, is he forbidden

To be with his love, me, left upon the sand.

How I wish to love him and him to me,

But never by the angels’ horrible command.

Every night he used to lie by my tomb,

Never to wake, to eat, nor to stand

For he loved me with a love so great,

            That no one could understand.

So a new love was made,

In this kingdom by the sea

By the Heavens, a couple in love,

But not as close as we.

So they would never again,

Covet someone who was loved so much like me.

Everyday I watch this pair,

Walk by my tomb by the sounding sea.

And wish my love were here,

To walk with me till Eternity.
