THE PROBLEMS OF BEING GAY

Can't talk to my parents

   They just don’t understand

The struggle I now go through

      They are so old fashioned

They no longer see me

      They see a total stranger

Why must they not understand

Why do they shut me out?

Why do they hate me?

        For being who I am

I’m still the same kid

        I have not changed

The only difference is now they know

         That I'm gay
