Imagine a Flower
Imagine a flower picking its own petals,
Throwing them on the ground in disgust.
Criticizing every fine line and fuzz,
It doesn't seem to add up.
Imagine the trees dropping their leaves
All at once to appear thin and crack
With a mild gust of wind.
It doesn't seem likely to happen.
Imagine a kitten being obsessively
Smitten with the calories in her
Kibble or milk.
It doesn't seem to make sense.
Imagine a girl beginning to learn to
Hate her own shape and size
Or measure the circumference of her thighs.
Yes, this seems right.
