Inspiration Strikes Near Death

With one powerful stroke I'm sailing in the air

The wind gently caresses my face as I look for smoothness

Each bump takes my worries away

Each swerve gets my brain going

With one lift I'm over a hurdle

The ground is territory to be conquered

Each mental block erased by the freedom

Each problem unlocked through the riding

For the skateboard is the true paragon of inspiration

As you test the limits of your body and the world

Suddenly everything is so much clearer

As your board gets stuck and you fly off

Everything is so much simpler

With your life on the line, the brain goes wild with ideas

Thoughts of what could've been, what should've been

And that's where the golden idea comes

In a moment where mortality is frail and gone at any moment

Inspiration strikes the clearest
