The Joy of Failure

Once more the water falls

Pouring down my cheeks

Hopelessness increases

Happiness chooses to flee

Flee to a realm unknown

Unattainable to all

Despite my efforts shown

I can take no more

More and more work

A greater struggle

Sneers from the genius jerk

I just desire success

Success as the hawk

Elusive to the arrows of desire

Glides past a pond of shock

Not available on land

Land breaks, erodes, falls

Oceans rise with danger

The air with safety calls

But no wings spring from my back

Back to reality

I sink deeper, feel gloomier

No lamp light can lift me

The back of class has never been roomier.
