Elected
Romans 9:11-17
11 even before they were born or had done anything good or bad (so that God’s purpose in election would stand, not by works but by his calling)— 12 it was said to her, “The older will serve the younger,” 13 just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” 14 What shall we say then? Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not! 15 For he says to Moses: “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So then, it does not depend on human desire or exertion, but on God who shows mercy. 17 For the scripture says to Pharaoh: “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may demonstrate my power in you, and that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.”
Sons of God we are ... redeemed in Christ Jesus
the Source of our strength at the Eternal door.
Lifted up beyond our greatest expectation
far beyond our humanness in our inner core.
Through the Holy Spirit ... Who now lives in me.
I can see the work ahead ... and a past forlorn
Deep inside recognized the core of being freed
from my own helplessness and in innocence adorned
Romans 9:26-28
26 “And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’
there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”
27 And Isaiah cries out on behalf of Israel, “Though the number of the children of Israel are as the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved,
28 for the Lord will execute his sentence on the earth completely and quickly.”
The will of God imposed without pressure on my being.
Almost a matter of choice that is impossible to handle.
Not forced to be a robot to walk the narrow way
but more like a butterfly or a flickering candle.
The winds of strange doctrine will try to blow it out
or make the flight difficult for the butterfly.
But the Holy Spirit with the power of survival
will remove this hindrance and protect "our light”
