Down from Above

Can a fool utter wisdom?
Can a wise man speak without it?
Are the righteous infallible?
Can the fallible ever hope to be righteous?
The road behind me,
Holds all that I have lost
Of The path before me,
I know not the cost.
Name for me a saint without sin
And i will proclaim words now forbidden
I place no faith in mans goodwill
For it does not find me.
I harbor no hatred for their enemies,
All men wither and break like empty trees.
Is warring for peace a noble cause?
What can we gain that outweighs lives lost?
Truly
This age confounds me
Oil over honor
Land over love
What looms overhead,
As we gaze down from above?
