Vision; A Poem For My Father

What if I don't want to be like all the other girls?

What if I want some meat on my bones.

Oh I forgot,

"Some is better then nothing but to much don't look pleasing"

I'm sorry that you are so caught up

with your personal image of your daughter

that you dont see how much I disagree.

Dad, I dont want to look slim

I dont want to conform to your vision

I dont want to go around everyday in slim body.

So what my body is growing

You got me feeling like I'm choking

Dad

It's like I'm choking on a peice of glass

trying to be an upper class.

Dad

Choking on all the words you've put into my head

Bleeding because I simply can't forget

Dad, I am not your vision

this is not a judicial decision.

Take a seat because my name is not Vision.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
