To Be Me

To enter the precarious force that is the mind
To accept the perilous and perfect emotions of self
To love the inherent nature of words
And to inherit the beauty they offer

To rhyme or not to rhyme, that is the question
To write pain into the pen and reap pleasures afterwards
To be oneself with no judgement, only paper
A verse that is as free as the author

To converse with valiant effort, offering varying values
To find treasures in the classic stories told by others
To be inspired by otherness and aspire with similar originiality
This is what poetry has taught me.

This poem is about:
Me
Our world
