To Fall Up

Thu, 04/27/2017 - 09:36 -- Token

They always said that love takes time

That the one you meet in a split second and fall in love with then

They're nothing but a warning sign

And I didn't believe

Until his girlfriend conceived

And she bear child

Yet my heart lay unbroken

This is the oddest thing text has ever spoken

And the truth is clear

As the time of retribution draws ever so near

Realization seems so queer

My heart laid in more pieces while I loved him

And began to mend when he had child

When I knew he didn't need me

When I knew he wasn't the one

Suddenly, in reverse, my life came undone

The pieces that fell apart came together a new

and it makes me think of my luck

Maybe this is what it's like

To simply fall up
