I am thankful for the Sun
I am thankful for the sun
Such a bright brilliant sun
So tough yet so optimistic
When its gone its hard not to miss it
Prompted up in your crisp blue castle
While watching all the morning traffic & rush hour hassle
Oh sun, how do you bear?
All the hatred and crime that goes on down there
Yet you shine your light that is all too bright
Until its time to rest and the moon rule the night
Oh sun you think you've fooled me
How you shed your tears down my street
They call it rain
But I know its pain
From the crime and hatred you see again & again
I can tell by the cool dark air
That you breathe out and make me bear
Yet I envy how in no time you creep out
And come up upon arrival with no more pout
But I am thankful for you
Because you taught me what to do
When crime & hatred fills these streets
To shine & shine from my head to my feet
Oh sun I look to you as I write this poem
To appreciate you for shining on my home
And creep through my window to wake me
Despite everything you see on a daily
You make time for me
I am thankful for the sun
