The Perception of Mixed Slaves
We are the same within our hearts
But we are of different kinds.
We play different parts,
And have much different minds
With acceptance as our wish,
We hoped equality to follow
But we are met with minds quite brandish
So there remains only sorrow.
Release us into the wind
So that we may breathe fresh air.
In what way have we sinned
To deserve a life so unfair.
I once was too young to know
Or to even realize
That my people were treated so
By the white man and his allies.
We are the same within our hearts
But we are of different kinds.
We play different parts,
And have much different minds
