Past reasoning

beyond

Isa 29:8  It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

Beyond understanding are dreams of yesterday

Reality died long ago as it drowned in self-pity

All paths to be found are all going in circles

The maze by self designed now appears petty

Reasons like dew on the grass will soon dry up

What made sense just recently seems now confusing

Caught within the boundaries that are made of such

Callous to limitation of humanness in self-abusing

Like a boat in dry dock hungering for waves

Is an isolated heart that no one wants to repair.

Where is love when needed as a deeper craving?

Cracks and tears molds the heart as no one cares?

Maybe after all is done the heart will look as new

A new coat of paint over some ill-advised compound

A little wax and polish. Now it will fool so many

While deep inside the cracks make a creaking sound

Life goes on or does it now? What is a form of death?

Who will measure progress when sliding into nothingness?

Who will stand with you as you’re caught in a net?

Who will take your place? Who fills your emptiness?
