The Barber
Tricked are the ones
born without a captain,
who learn how to feel
without knowing what's
made them, and it's juggling
through obstacles that shape
us, and torn through us are
the rope ladders they climb,
we use and play off our feelings
we know recognition but not
pride, and we're two, of the same
kind, we're the many who hide,
an advocate and a victim, a silent
protest among our own listeners,
and there's many a meaning behind
that or meaning deep within us are
holes and venom and vain, vain, vain
as our lives, we keep, because that's
what's made us.
