Why Write?
Location
I write about the moments in life
That are too complex for the spoken word,
And I write to dissect every problem
That I can't bear to inflict upon a friend.
I write to express the misunderstood beauty
That few people have experienced.
By writing, I recognize the underrated elegance
Found within the people and
Objects downtrodden by a standard
Of beauty that will never be attained.
I write to feel the immediate comfort
Of making my thoughts concrete
And sharing them with the people
Who live while I write about the
Emotions and experiences that are
At once unique and universal.
And I write in the hopes
That I will affect at least one life
With my existence through the written word,
Giving hope to some and comfort to others.
Because as long as the written word exists,
You are never truly alone.
