Unbounded
I lay in bed, waiting for that bliss moment
to be taken away from reality,
and into my deepest desires
1, 2, 3...
I'm gone.
I enter my imagination.
I'm in utopia; there are no laws,
no regulations, no racism, no
discrimination, just complete,
and utter freedom. Women and men walk around
without batting a judging eye towards one another.
I dream of a perfect world
filled with endless sunsets,
walks under a starry lit sky,
rivers filled with different species of fish with colors that we never knew existed,
and innumerable amounts of books with untold stories of heroines fighting off the
forces of evil.
I look around and see all types of foods;
I see pastas, chicken wings, shawarma,
steak, sushi, noodles, strawberries,
crepes, cakes, pastries, donuts,
sweet rolls, reeses, and so much more.
I cry out in utter joy at the sight before me.
The world around me is different; I
see lovers of the same sex treasuring
their child, I see no use of guns or dead bodies
on the ground around police officers;
I see everyone getting along and laughing
with tears of elation streaming down their smiling faces.
To be able to sleep and dream of paradise
is truly a blessing.
My dreams are cut short as the sun slowly
wraps its warm arms around my unconscious
body; they pulls me out of my dreamlike state,
and into the reality that I have become foreign to.
