Turn Out The Lights
Lights turn on and lights go out
I see the remnants of mental fout
Cycle, fast, then slowing down
Drape around us, like a gown
The blown glass woman
Cool and frail
Never dented by the hail
The coronation of a king
The presentation of an engagement ring
They bring around a polarizing aura
Reminiscent of the Aurora
The circle of light is now gone astray
I will continue on my way
Across the ocean, over sea
My biggest weakness set me free
Waves, they crash
And through they slash
The shreds of the pessimism
Warp the joy inside a prism
Around and down and to and fro
Opportunities lined up, row by row
Snatch and grab, but burning hot
You can't help it, they always drop
Spin the wheel, red and black
What are the odds of turning back?
It sends the spiral in reverse
A simple, senseless, mindless curse
Lights turn on, and lights go out
The blood is dripping from its snout
It's hot breath is on your neck
I don't dare to turn and check
Lights turn on, and lights go out
Taking the shape of a grinning lout
To others it appears a picture of grace
A mask disguising a foul face
Away and up, I'll try to fly
My river of dreams, no longer dry
I see the sky, blue and free
Now I see it, cie la vie
