Revel

An addiction is a beast untamed

Ingrained in one, it cannot be feigned

Until remorse and anguish remain

Raise swords to this colossus inflamed

And revel when it has been vanquished.

Temptation is a phage of the mind

It blinds all the virtue of mankind

Those that succumb despise what they find

Drain yourself of this immoral brine

And revel when it has been vanquished.

Some remember the halcyon days

Now those who kvelled have their wrists flayed

Isolated in depression' s maze

We can relinquish you from pain's blaze

And revel when it has been vanquished.

Impulse for self-harm is the reflex

Affliction follows, forming a hex

Yet a friend’s love, free of all defects

Remedies a wound that used to vex

So revel when it has been vanquished!
