Mama, what's that noise I hear?
       Cries of freedom,
       Justice's song.

Mama, why'd that girl fall down?
       She tripped and fell.
       She'll wake up soon.

Mama, why's that light so bright?
       It's a bonfire, dear.
       There's a party tonight.

Mama, why's your shirt so red?
       The flower grows.
       The colors spread.

Mama, can't you hear my scream?
       The silence answers.
       Gunshots ring.

Mama, who's this man in here?
       The shiny gun,
       His steely glare.

Mama, what's this pain I feel?
       Deep inside,
       The color spreads.

Mama, shall I join you now?
       Lay by your cool skin?
       The ground is soft.

Mama, is this death?
      I'm scared.
