Forever Young
I am naivety,
I shed and change.
I morph to fill a role to big and burdened for me.
Like a little girl in her mother’s shoes,
A child bride,
Who places her wifely responsibilities next to the dreams of childhood.
I am dependence.
Placing myself into the hands of another.
Like a dove who was never taught what her wings were for,
I am beautiful,
But I am tragic.
The over ripened and unplucked fruit
Of potential.
I am innocence.
I have learned pain,
but not yet fear.
I have learned to forgive
but not to accept.
I have learned many things,
But not to teach.
I have learned to love,
And to be loved,
But not to cherish.
Heart break is unbenounced.
To go without is unbenounced.
Death is unbenounced.
I am vibrant
I am loved
I am invincible.
I am eternal.
I will be,
Always,
Forever young.
