Here's To...
I’d like to make a toast to those who need it
Here’s to the fighters
The one’s that stand strong and proud
The people to look up to
Here’s to the jokers
Who are here to make us smile
Even when we don't want to
Here’s to the one’s we love the most
Without them, who would we be?
We’d be nothing
Here’s to the geniuses
The one’s that are smart
Whether or not if they finished school
Here’s to the artists
Giving us things to look at
Something that means so much more than what is seen or heard
Let’s say thanks to the people
Because they matter so much to us
Here’s to the bullies
The one’s that make you want to become strong enough to be better than that
The one’s that make it easy to tell jokes about because they’ve given great ones to people
The one’s that give us something to protect when they come around
The one’s who push people to be the smartest so that one day, the bullies will be the one’s who are the low lives while the smarties do something great with theirs
The one’s that can show people how to pursue their anger into drawings on a page or lyrics on a sheet
Let’s say thanks to the one’s that has pushed us down
Because without them, not everyone will have something to fight for or to prove
We’re supposed to prove things to ourselves
But without the one’s who literally pushes us into becoming who we want to be
Then how would we know what we should be fighting for?
So yes, here’s to the bullies
I despise the thought of them
But where would we be in our minds without them?
I don't know
But not everything will entirely be perfect
Also,
Here’s to the one’s we’ve lost
The one’s we look pictures of and then shed to tears
We shed because it’s hard to lose anyone
You can't just waltz into someone’s life and cause a huge impact on that life
But then go away as if you meant nothing to anyone or anything
Because that'll be be the biggest lie you would ever tell
Its dumb how someone can feel so alone but once they go, we all start saying #RIP
And then we explain on how they would have been there for them, but where were they when that person needed it most
But who am I to talk?
When I hear about a suicide, I’d think I'd be the one person who would be there if I was around
But maybe I wouldn't have been
That kind of thinking stops now
Not just to me, but to the others who say they wish they were there
Quit with the, “I wish’s”
And start with the “I will’s”
“I will be there for someone”
“I will stay up all night with this person”
“I will make sure no one died by suicide tonight.”
Lastly,
Heres to the one’s who made it.
