Bubble

In a bubble no one can hear you scream

No one can see you cry

Black space,

dark space

Time picks out your eyes

Years go in and out

moving like blades of grass

Always going

never moving

Children cry and die

Mom’s face grows loose

Dad has jowls

Flesh rots,

fields go fallow

IM, Myspace, Facebook

string your speech like garlands on Christmas eve

spreading the feeling

I see your bubble skin

pictures, words, videos

your life the movie

But the truth hides in a corner cowering unseen

The world’s growing smaller,

but we’re still so separate
