How wonderful was the experience
Just as innocent and young as a child
When the excitement built up to the surface
As we waited for our turn in line
How long it took for each child
Impatiently fidgeting
eyes darting aroud the playground
Watching the other children frolic
So carelessly
Listening to the shrieks
And cries from skinned knees
And "He pushed me, she pushed me"
Teachers scolding
Their whistles blowing
But still you wait your turn
Seeing the faces on each child brighten
As they glide with the wind to the very end
Taking a back to the line for another round
Climbing up the ladder with great satisfaction
Finally ready for your go
You embrace it
A push from your bottom and down you go.
